There is an overwhelming amount of information and resources available on the web to students with disabilities and their families as well as educators and local and State agencies. Here, I have provided a list of some of the sites I have found to be most helpful.

 

General Information Resources

 

U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)

Provides information and support to families, educators and States in the areas of Special EducationVocational Rehabilitation and Research

 

Administration for Community Living (ACL)

Provides grants to promote the use and adoption of new disability and rehabilitation knowledge

 

US Department of Education Office for Civil Rights

Office responsible for the enforcement of Civil Rights laws including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

 

New US DOE IDEA Website

Provides information and resources related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

 

Center for Parent Information and Resources

This website is chock full of great information and resources.

 

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)

An international professional organization "dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents."

A great place to find information and resources related to Federal Special Education laws and advocacy.

Great place to network and find resources and support for special education issues.
